When FCPS is closed Holy Comforter Preschool and Kindergarten will be closed. When FCPS has a two hour delay, Holy Comforter Preschool & Kindergarten will also have a two hour delay and operate on the following schedule:

     Preschool: 11:00am - 1:00pm

     Kindergarten: 11:00am - 1:00pm (Monday/Friday) and 11:00 - 3:00pm (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

Parents will always be notified by email and the school's voicemail will be updated with information. Please call the school's office at 703-938-3704 for updated messages. When FCPS closes early due to weather, Holy Comforter Preschool & Kindergarten will also close. Parents will receive an email and staff will contact parents by phone.

EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES: Driving conditions at Holy Comforter Preschool & Kindergarten parking lot or prediction of serious weather conditions may require that the Preschool Director or the Chairperson of the Board determine that the Preschool/Kindergarten will not open.

Parent Volunteers

Parents are our most valuable resource and your time and talents are pivotal to the success of the preschool. Each family will be asked to complete a volunteer questionnaire. Volunteer opportunities exist with hospitality events such as Christmas programs and kindergarten graduation. Fundraising events such as serving on the auction committee and school support during our school pictures days are more opportunities to volunteer.

Toilet Training

Children age two and a half: Parents must provide diapers and wipes for a child who is not toilet trained.

Children age three, four, and five: Children must be toilet trained and able to attend to their sanitary needs. We understand that children at these ages may have accidents and we will inform parents if one should occur.

Snacks and Lunch

Holy Comforter Preschool & Kindergarten is a nut free school. Parents will provide daily snacks and lunch for their own children. For birthdays and other special events please notify the teacher if you would like to send a snack in for the entire class.
